Broken twill was introduced in the mid-20th century to solve a nagging problem: the leg twist caused by traditional right-hand twill, where the diagonal weave slowly pulls the seams out of line. Broken twill answers it with a zig-zag weave that interrupts that diagonal structure, so the leg keeps its shape and hangs straight over years of wear. We took that heritage solution and brought it into the present -- vintage workwear roots, modern cut. The Higate and Harold are proof, each built on broken twill for a texture and character you won't mistake for anything else.

Broken twill has a distinct hand, something we call sturdy softness. Breaking up the weave releases some of the fabric's tension, so it feels durable and comfortable from the very first wear. On the Higate, that texture pairs with a slim-straight cut for a look that's sharp but relaxed. The Harold runs the same fabric in a full-black colorway -- a rugged, versatile everyday essential.
Both the Valerie and Heka use 100% cotton broken twill that's sanforized, or pre-shrunk, so there are no surprises after washing. The dye is where the story continues: the Higate's indigo will fade into deep, captivating blues, while the Harold's black slowly settles into a rich vintage patina.
