In the fashion industry, and denim especially, a great deal sits behind the clothes we wear every day: the tools that make production possible. Pride N'Joy is no exception. As a denim brand, we rely on a range of tools to keep each catalog moving from idea to finished pair. The first, and one of the most important, is a piece of software called Lectra.
Lectra is built for industries like fashion, automotive, and furniture. In practice, it handles design, pattern-making, and product development all in one place. For us it streamlines the early work -- designing and visualizing a product, managing patterns and fabric, and optimizing the production process before a single piece is cut.
“One machine turns a hem into a fade worth waiting for: the Union Special 43200G.”
In fashion specifically, Lectra lets us draw detailed garment designs, organize patterns, and simulate how a fabric will behave and drape. It's also a real help when a garment involves complex, precise components. The goal, across every stage, is greater efficiency, better accuracy, and smoother collaboration.
Alongside Lectra, two machines do the physical work: the Singer and the Union Special 43200G. Singer machines -- from the Singer Sewing Company -- are known for durability and versatility, handling everything from basic seams to advanced construction. They come in mechanical, electronic, and computerized versions, with features like multiple stitch patterns, automatic threading, and adjustable settings for whatever a job demands.
Last is the Union Special 43200G, a specialized industrial machine and the reason many of our hems look the way they do. It's a high-speed chain-stitch and single-stitch unit, prized in garment production for seams that are strong and built to last -- ideal for denim and other heavyweight fabrics. The chain stitch it lays down is flexible yet tough, able to take the strain of hard use, which is exactly why it produces the roping fades denim heads love on a hem. Being a true industrial machine, it demands routine care: proper lubrication and timely servicing are what keep it running at its best.
